So I broke up my Luang Prabang posts so I could just have them divided by the activities we did. This one is the Pak Ou caves.

The Pak Ou caves are some super old buddhist caves. They had like ancient writing wayyy high up on the walls, and they were filled with Buddhist statues. I wish I could tell you more of the cool history behind this cave, but I was too cheap to pay for a tour guide, so you will get the watered down Sierra summary of the caves!

We drove through more beautiful little towns and farmlands that I must include pics of:

So the caves were across the river, so we took this beautiful boat ride to them!

The cave was inside of this beautiful mountain

our lovely boat driver

Side note: This river was so cool! It was like part of the towns culture. There were ladies doing laundry in it, and cute little naked babies jumping in it.

We arrived to the bottom of the mountain, and had to climb tons of stairs. There were all these kids just following us around, begging us to buy stuff from them. It was funny because they were so persistent, they kept saying "please, we haven't sold anything today" in a sad voice, but because they were kids, they got distracted from their acting, and would ask in a normal voice "Do you have any games on your phone?" and stuff like that. The first little beggar kid was so cute though, so we bought a little keychain from him. heres a pic of him:

He was so excited when we bought from him! Logan gave him a little extra money for candy and he was pumped!

So after climbing and climbing and climbing the stairs, we got up to the cave. It was kind of creepy. We were the only ones there. We came late enough in the day that all the other tourists had left. So with only Logans crappy LG phone flashlight, we went in the cave. It was so creepy! The flashlight was super dim, but we were able to see some crazy cool Buddhist statues! Like hundreds of them!

Our light wasn't bright enough, but the statues go way far back, beyond what we could capture

They came in all sizes, and some of them were super old and made of stone like this guy!

We exited the cave, and here is some of the stuff on the outside:

For bonus, here is an evil cat coming to clean his sins:

So we had a great rest of our trip. I told Logan I could not handle another 12 hour van ride or I would for sure throw up, so we took something called a sleeping bus home in the middle of the night. It was the weirdest bus ride ever. They had these super narrow beds that were leather, and they were bunk beds. They gave us little cakes and food and stuff, and we just did our best to sleep on this strange bus:
